Amber Benson is an American actress singer writer director and producer. Most famously, she is known for her role as Tara Maclay on the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer and has also directed produced and appeared in her own film Chance and Lovers Liars & Lunatics. Also, she was a part of the movie Kiss the Bride. Benson was born January 8 1977, in Birmingham Alabama the daughter of Diane Benson and Edward Benson a psychiatrist. Danielle Benson is her sibling and an accomplished artist. The father of Benson was Jewish, and while her mother was a Southern Baptist raised by Southern Baptist parents. Her family was raised going to a Reform community in Alabama. Benson is a performer involved in numerous TV and movie shows since Buffy ended, has also appeared in The Killing Jar.
