Anita Sarkeesian was born in Canada, but was raised in the US. She has worked as an editor since the year 1995. Feminist Frequency was founded by Sarkeesian. The site hosts videos with commentary that analyze gender representations in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian-American blogger and media critic who has won awards for her work, is an activist blogger. Feminist Frequency explores how women are depicted in popular culture.
