Alessia Cara
When she was 19, she released her debut single Here. The track received praise by music critics as well as listeners. It reached 19th place on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the hit one of the Best Songs of 2015. Her debut Know It All album in the same year. The third single, Scars to Your Beautiful was the first of five tracks which reached the top charts on Billboard which included Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as Billboard Hot 100. The song was particularly memorable due to her interview with rapper Rap-Up, many of the listeners related to her journey through self-doubt and discovering how to love herself. Cara integrates messages about kindness and loving yourself throughout her songs. The music that she has written stems from her personal struggles in overcoming mental health issues as well as insomnia. In an Reuters interview, she describes the album as being half turbulent and half perfected. Therapy helped her grow and urges people to try it too. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. She was born July 11, 1996, to parents with Italian descent. When she was 10 years old, her parents gifted her a guitar that became the beginning of her musical passion. In the year 2003, she turned 13 she started singing songs she loved on YouTube. It proved to be a fantastic way to showcase to others the fact that she had the talent and the courage. Indeed one of the covers Sweater Weather got noticed by a label known as EP Entertainment which allowed her to write and create the songs.
