Alison Maria Krauss - born on July 23, 1971, is an American bluegrass and country singer. Her career began in the music industry as a child, when she was a mere 10 years old. The year 1985 saw her signing by Rounder Records. Her first solo album came out in 1987. After that, she was asked to join Alison Krauss Union Station, which is the group she performs together. Her debut album together as a band came out in the year 1989.
